so i just upgraded my computer to windows 7 and when i ran my bukkit server and played on it the cpu's spiked to 100% and it was virtually unplayable and its only my bukkit server i took off all plugins ran it and still the same result then i ran the official server program and not a tiny bit of lag i tried allocating 4gb of ram to it still i have the same issue.
is there a way to fix this i really want to use bukkit and also i have a 10gb of ram and a AMD Athlon II X3 440 processor 3.00 Ghz.

    please help me.

Same here, but it's only when I go into the server myself.

Are you playing minecraft on the same machine as the bukkit server runs on?

yes but it should work fine it works perfect with the official server program and it worked perfectly before i upgraded to windows7 64 bit when i only had 2gb of ram.

I guess the bukkit server is a little more sensible to multiple instances of java. Try to run the server on your computer and ask a friend (or use a 2nd computer if you have one) to connect to your server and see if its still lagging.

Edit: Oh, btw what Java are you using? x86 or x64?

i have tested it with both x86 and x64 and it acts the same but for right now i am using x64 and it only lags when i connect to it not when i have both running.

hmm connecting through my ip instead of local host seemed to have eliminated a tremendous amout of lag but its still a cpu hog now it uses about 62% to 80%

How are you experiencing the lag? Cannot break blocks (they are re-appearing)? When you connected to the server, can you break blocks for the first few seconds?

block breaking issues, take forever to load environment, etc... but it seems that i fixed the issue on version 740 by using my ip instead of localhost to connect now it loads quick and i have no block breaking issues.

i take it back its still very lagg a lot less then before but still extremely laggy
