I need a torch plugin that let a player emmit light straight from the hand without placing a torch. I don't like a torc plugin that places a glowstone block under a player who is holding a torch, i need a plugin that dont place any blocks arround them to emmit the light but the players emmit the lights them self. This can happen if you hold a torch, redstone torch, lava bucket, jack'o'lantern

timtower Could send a fake block change behind the player. I am not going to make this, but that is one way a developer can do it if they want.

Finding behind takes time, and OP said that he didn't want block changing plugins.

There is already a mod, Dynamic Lights.

I'm not sure, but I think it will be easier if you just change this mod to make it multiplayer.

Maybe, It's totally different. It is just an idea, I'm not a (Java) developper.

He is looking for a Plugin.
And there is no way to convert a mod into a Plugin.

mrCookieSlime I know that the resource exists. it just takes time to implement with the continues movement and resetting it etc.
Apotheose Mods aren't really supported on these forums. And not server side either.

If i install the mod on the server its no longer vanilla, i want to host a server that does not require any client mods to be installed. This forum is only about plugins no mods timtower isn't that right?

there is a plugin called Hold-able torches which gives you night vision when you hold a toch.

Well...does the play have to be the one emitting light? I mean, if you want to be creative with it, just place a torch in the opposite direction the player is facing and remove as they move around and turn and replace. Only other way to accomplish this would be to make the player into a light emitting entity, which is not easy.

Been using this for a while and it works like a charm. Not "that" resource intensive server-side, but can be on clients.

Allows you to create light sources wherever you want, with the light level you want, OR to follow players, OR entities, OR... Well just read the description.

I'm not sure that you read entirely my post.

I'm not a java developper. It was an idea. Why can't we convert a mod into a plugin ? (don't answer).

So read entirely my post and be sure that you understand all.

ZyphiorMC How about a glowstone block is placed under a player, however, the glowstone block is retextured as the previous block that was in it's location.

that can go too but i bet its hard to doo. This plugin works very well. I realy enjoys this plugin. 3 reasons:
1: You can add/remove any items you want to emmit light when held and theyre light level
2: Can plase a invisible torch with configurable light level
3: I love this plugin so far
