    Hey,

So Wesley Wolfe DMCAed Bukkit. I do not agree with this, but I understand why he did it. Unfortunately, Wolfe is not Mojang, nor does he work for them. He doesn't care if he gets hate, or if servers go down. He just wants money for what he coded that was sold for free. Like the lead developers got. This means that petitions won't work, neither will boycotts. The only way to get out of this is to, A) Give him what he wants. B) Win over him in a court battle.

Hope that makes sense, Thanks for reading!

I don't think he wants money, I think he has this false idea that if Bukkit wasn't owned by Mojang then he wouldn't be working for Mojang for free without pay. However, anything that promotes Minecraft is doing a job for Mojang, whether it's owned by them or not. So those who developed Bukkit before it was purchased were still working, without pay, for Mojang.

Those who developed Bukkit, worked for Mojang without pay. Those like me that developed plugins, worked for Mojang without pay. Those who ran servers, yep you worked for Mojang without pay. Anyone who does ANYTHING that makes people want to buy Minecraft is working for Mojang and always has been.

Err, I didn't buy Craftbukkit. If you did, you got ripped off. So I'm not sure what you're saying here.

He knew his code was being used for free, he submitted the code for free to help run servers for free.

If it was about money he could of just got a part time job at McDonalds instead of submitting code.

The only thing he wanted was for Mojang to make Bukkit legit (see the DMCA) or to stop the project like they wanted to in the first place.

At least that is my take on the situation.

So if that's the case, why did he file a copyright claim what else does it get for him? Hate?

pilotdan1985 If I were him, I wouldn't care. Anyways, my server is offline for an overhaul.

EDIT: I didn't finish reading your post. ;p Anyway, why does he care if Bukkit is legit or not? He LEFT.
