Plugin category: Mechanics Suggested name: Quiver What I want: I'd like to see a plugin where you can store your arrows in your "quiver" by rightclicking with them in your hand. Whenever you hold your bow a scoreboard should appear and show how many arrows you have in your imaginary quiver. Ideas for commands: No commands needed for this plugin. Ideas for permissions: quiver.use When I'd like it by: Whenever you want to make it
Really not up to me. Not my request. I like the idea of an item based quiver because it gives the variable chance of dropping it and losing your arrows or the option to give away quivers full of arrows. Instead of an interface I'd use lore to display how many arrows are in the quiver. That's just my opinion.
timtower If you don't make it, I'm willing to make this plugin. I don't want to steal it from you, though, so let me know if you decide to make it or not EDIT: Just thought of one more thing I should mention. The quiver will essentially HAVE to be an arrow because a bow will not fire without an arrow in the inventory, and there's no real way to make it pull back the bow without having arrows in your inventory. This also means that the "quiver" will need to be a quantity greater than 1, as only having 1 will shoot out that one arrow, and in my past experiences working with arrows, cannot simply be fixed by putting another arrow in the inventory when you shoot, as it tends to glitch out.
timtower Alright, starting development now! I have a question, how should players obtain the quiver? I'll probably just set it up so there can be a recipe as well as a command for spawning one.
Yes, a recipe and a command should do it (2 Arrows right and left and a chest in the middle?)! Didn't know that you can't make it so one doesn't need an arrow, so the quiver should propably be 2 arrows with a custom name (If possible you shouldn't be apple to split the stack). Edit: Oh Maybe you can find something useful here: https://forums.bukkit.org/threads/bow-without-arrows.167944/
Hmm... I am running into one problem... I'm not sure how to prevent people from using that drag feature in inventories to duplicate the quivers without completely canceling interaction with the quiver in general... I'll do some messing around with it.
Hate to be that guy, but bordum struck and I liked this idea so I ran with it. https://www.dropbox.com/s/8g7qe5s7epxsceb/Quiver.jar The quiver is a chestplate that holds arrows. There is a quiver recipe for leather to diamond chestplates. Leather holds 2 stacks, iron 4, gold 8, diamond 16. I may change this later. Crafting recipe for each quiver is configurable using material names. Arrows picked up will automatically go into the quiver if room is available. Right click arrows in your inventory, they will go into your quiver. Chestplates can be repaired in anvil but not renamed. if quiver chestplate breaks, arrows fall to the ground. You will need one available slot in your inventory to shoot the bow due to its functionality being client side. I was unable to find a way around this. No commands have been added just yet. It's an early release and was more concerned with functionality. xFlamingKatanax I'm in no way trying to undermine your work, like I said I got bored and liked this idea. Continue on, you may have something more appealing to the requester. I took my own direction.
