    MOVED TO DEV BUKKIT:
    News

    v2.4.2 Released - 9/24/2011
See the change log for details.
Everyone using PermissionsEx, Essentials, or anything else besides the regular permissions plugin or PermissionsBukkit should add or change this in their config under the Global section:
    LegacyPermissions: true
As of 2.4.0 the bPermissions plugin is supported directly.
As of 2.3.7 the PermissionsBukkit plugin is supported directly.
This support is not done through the new built in Permissions that bukkit provides, because there is no way to get a players group using the built in methods. However, by supporting this directly, you can now use the new permissions system while still keeping Residence, and not having to use old permissions at all anymore.

    Residence Signs (by KarnEdge)

NOTE: All Residence usage information has been moved to the wiki!

    About:
Residence is different from most protection plugins in that it aims for the users to be able to protect their own homes without having to bother the admin to do it. Residence has support for a variety of different protection types including preventing movement through areas, all of which can be configured by the land owner, and limited by the admin.
    Features:
    Features (open)

    • Allows players to define protected areas for themselves.
    • Individual permissions for each protected area. Land owner can give / deny permissions globally or to other specific players.
    • Different permissions per land include: move, build, use, pvp, fire, teleport, monsters spawn, damage prevention
    • Support for group permissions on protections.
    • Multi-World support.
    • Teleport system to allow users to teleport to residences.
    • Collision detection system to prevent residences from overlapping.
    • Limits to protected size can be set up by the admin.
    • Limits to number of protected areas per player can be set.
    • Two ways to select land including using the select command, or using a item to select 2 points.
    • Messages when you enter / leave a residence. (customizable)
    • Land "leasing" system which requires users to renew the lease on their protection every X number of days or loose the protection. (off by default, see config file)
    • Recursive Sub-zoning. Create zones within zones, and then zones within those zones...
    • TONS of configuration for admins. Customize every single flag that players can or cannot use in the config file, based on their permissions group.
    • (Optional) IConomy support, can set up cost per X number of blocks protected.
    • (Optional) Permissions support.
    • In-game help / commands descriptions

    • Fixed global "container" flag bug.
    • Fixed some NPE's related to explosions.

    v2.1
    • BOSEconomy support.
    • Essentials Economy support.

    • /res check [residence] [flag] <player> command, this command evaluates if <player> is affected by [flag] at [residence]. You can leave off <player> and it will use your name.
    • Added a LeaseAutoRenew config option, that will cause leases to automatically renew so long as the player has the money to do so. Note that, if economy is disabled this doesn't work, as there would be no point to leases. Needs Testing! :)
    • Global FlagPermission config section, that allows you to give permission to use a flag to all groups, useful for the build / move / use flag that you almost definitely want everyone to have access to. Flags under each individual group will overrule these.
    • You can now set a limits on how deep or how high protections can go into the group, using each groups MinHeight and MaxHeight settings.
    • /res select sky, and /res select bedrock commands, these auto adjust to the above mentioned MinHeight and MaxHeight settings, so it won't select into a area you can't protect.
    • Rent system implemented.
    • Many bug fixes, including proper creeper explosion prevention now. Also, fixed some bugs when renaming residences.
    • New healing flag.
    • The monsters flag has been split up into "animals" and "monsters" now.
    • New Developer API, including custom Bukkit events.

I don't know which one of you need to fix it, but the center of a residence Residence seems to be incompatible with Vampirism. Vampires catch fire at the center of a residence.

Same here, CB612. Bekvon, please find a way through it ASAP, because this is really an essential plugin for my server :/ And it's just AWESOME, i don't even want to think about any other self-serve protection plugin. Thank you!

How do i set it so players CAN build in certain areas. These are my DEFAULT flag when creating a residence:

Flags: -pvp -explosions -tp -damage -use -monsters -flow -build +move -fire
    Group Flags: default[-tp -use -build +move] admins[+tp +use +build +move]

This means that when i create a residence as admin, people can ONLY move inside the area. I want to create a res, and then set it so ANYONE can delete the blocks inside. (this is for a mining spot).

My world is set to -build on the residence settings and BUILD=True on world settings. So the world says u can, but then residnece says dont let them.

If you need any more info please ask, i really need help on this one.
If you have the time, please can you come on and give me a bit of help on this residence setting. If it can be done, should only take 5 mins:)
    IP is:
    81.159.216.253:25566
(This server isn't open to public, so it's usually white listed. I don't want this to come across as advertising as this server isn't even open yet. I'm half way through building it. Just thought i'd mention this)

    Thank you!!

I have only a little question.

Is it possible to disable the teleport flag for users? Maybe in the config?

If not, can you add a permission node for this flag? Don't want that my users port all the time.

Just did. It loads without errors, however I have not tested for full functionality

  9. Seems to be working for me on 670

Pardon me if this has already been asked, but what is it saving on 10 minutes intervals? I couldn't find a thread search function and I didn't want to scan through 14 pages of posts.

It saves all residences in this interval. If the server gets timeout, all residences would been removed if the save interval wouldn't be exist.

    @all
Hey everyone, just a quick status update on V2.0. I have multiple physical areas for each residence working now, and I also have added functionality to the selection tool. With 2.0, you can do '/res select expand 50' to expand the selection by 50 in the direction your looking. Ive also redone most of the config file now, so that hopefully its easier to read. Also, should have most of the save system issues fixed, although that still needs more testing. If one residence is invalid, you now only loose that residence rather then it corrupting your whole save at least. Things left to be done include permissions lists, as well as maybe a few command aliases, a few more tweaks to the config file, and alot of testing. I hope to have it out in a few days, but that depends on how real life goes :)

Seems to work fine for me in v670. I am experiencing a bug though. I create new residences and then they seem to disappear after a short while. Probably just some user error honestly...

Oh yea, in the current version, when I try to mirror flags, it is wiping all flags from the source and destination areas. All except +move and -build however. Also, as an Admin, when I create residences, since I am not in any group listed in the Residence config, it is giving me default lease times that are like 5-10 minutes, and if I don't "/resadmin lease set infinite", they disappear. Was quite frustrating figuring that one out.

Great plugin! However, I am still stuck with using WorldGuard for fire and explosion protection since this plugin doesn't handle it very well. Is there any way you could make it an option to still let Creepers and Ghasts explode, but not TNT? Also, can you let people use the lighter, but just disable fire spread? A lot of my users use the lighter for fireplaces, traps, activating nether portals, etc. and this prevents them from doing that. I just want fire to not spread or burn anything.

If you can do this, I can finally stop using the beastly and slow-to-update WorldGuard! :D

    Also, multiworld support please?

This plugin works great for us at my server; it's great to let users protect their own areas and have the rest be wild; but for some reason lately permissions work fine, but they always get a permission denied message, regardless of whether they have permissions or not (it still lets or doesn't let them build correctly, just spams the message)... Am I doing something wrong here?

V2.0 ALPHA is out. It needs ALOT of testing and I don't yet recommend it for live server use. The source code for it is also on GitHub now, so anyone can go look at it and find bugs now if they want to. It should support the newer iComony versions now as well. :)

This looks like some sort of iConomy / Residence interaction issue. Hopefully its been fixed in v2.0 as 2.0 supports the latest iConomy version.

Is this usable along side of AntiBuild?(Permissions addon)
    Will it overwrite the permissions?
    Example:
    Code:
Default users aren't allowed to build.
City A allows anyone to build.
Will default players be able to build in City A or is it
group based so you set default players as not being able to build?
