Hey, I've been having problems with this and Autosave for some reason. It comes up saying 'Beginning World Save' or 'World Saving' and then the like 1/2 second later it says 'Ending World Save'. The reason I'm saying this is because when I restart the server it rolls everybody back as if the save hadn't happened. To do a test I tried restarting after the save ended and it rolled back to the same time as before. If this is because I havn't configured it (Other than set the time between saves to 5 munutes) then can someone please explain what I need to do?

    Thankyou,
    Sanity

    =)

P.S I'm running the latest Bukkit build, Have permissions and essentials plugins (Others but don't think they will really have an effect on this).

    Thanks <3

Try the latest recommended build (617jnkns).

SimpleSave should work 670, however, I can't test until later today. Sorry.

I have a feature request that i think would come in handy. Include the option to pause saving if there are no players on the server. or at least save after some one leaves and once the last person is gone, pause saving until someone joins again.

Also, when might we see incremental backups? having one less plugin would be awesome!

Thanks for all of your hard work!

I'll try and add your first request in 2.1.1, basically if nobodys on, it wouldn't save. This would be configurable as a yes no option in the config file.
Incremental backups will come soon as well. Maybe 2.1.1, or 2.2. It would just backup after the world save. Or, it could be an entirely different interval. Any ideas on which?

The option to set an interval for the backup would be awesome. after every save might put too much load on the server...

    desmin88

OK, in 2.2 update I'll include backups at another defined interval, and no saving if no players are online.
Right now I'm cleaning the code up and making more methods so I can further implement new features more easily and seamlessy.

I'm not going to even explain.
    Please re-read the first post.

    ?

I thought ppl like you were ment to be helpful?
I will stop using your plugin as i cant find the world backup anywhere
Could you plz explain your plugin and how it works?
Im sure it is a very useful plugin if i knew how to use it :D

    @pkiller162
Oh I could explain it, but I already did.
The first post EXPLICITY states that is does NOT backup your world. Simply it sends a /save-all equivalent.
If you actually would have read the first post, instead of just seeing thread title and downloading, you would have seen this.
Which states it does not backup your world. This exact question has been asked multitudes of times throughout the thread, and my patience for it is running out.

How can you be running a server, if you don't now what a /save-all is?

    pkiller162

Bukkit gets updated all the time. I started using it when it didnt have /save-all :D

    Dont be mad :(

    desmin88

Umm, Bukkit and every single minecraft server ever released has /save-all from the start.
I dont know what your thinking of.

Can someone help post the file for the latest simplesave?Cant seem to download it...

    pkiller162

Ok, well sorry. I suppose i should look somewhere else to find out more about /save-all

But is there a plug-in out there that allows you to do what i am asking, backup to a different folder?

    CraftBukkit Wiki for commands.

Called Backup. It's ok. Does the job.

I read your other posts, and dude, come on. Common sense says read the first post. The plugin authors have enough trouble on their hands, they dont need to deal with people who wont read the FIRST POST. Just sad....

Keep up the awesome work, Desmin. Let me know if I can help with anything.

    Version 2.1.1

    • Doesn't save with no players online.
Simple update for now. Backups in next version.

Awesome. Right now I have a separate plugin for backup, will be great to reduce the amount of plugins I have loaded. ;-)

    @PhantomGamers
    Thanks!
In 2.2, I'm doing a major overhall. A new less confusing config, and more logic involved in it.
Backups are gonna be there too. Any other suggestions?

Nothing else that relates to saving, once backups are in I'd say it's set.
Now question, no disrespect intended: Does this plugin actually do anything?
I mean doesn't it just trigger /save-all? Doesn't save-on do this by default?
Or does it do something else?
Either way I like having this plugin to be safe, but I don't quite get it.

    @PhantomGamers

It doesn't send a /save-all to the console, but it does the Bukkit equivalent.
Save-on does this, but how do you know when its saving, if its working?
Also, simplesave gives you control because bigger servers might not want save-on saving their huge maps all the time causing lag.

Ah okay, thanks for the clarification. :)

I'm excited to see that you're planning on adding a feature that will allow for world backups. As it stands, I'm having to remember to make a copy of the map every night before I head off, which is pretty terrible considering how I am at remembering things.
