    Permissions 3.0
Rcjrrcjr has been working quite hard on this upgrade to Permissions. However, it currently still suffers from a number of bugs. The most important of these which directly affects HeroChat is the non-functioning of prefixes and suffixes. There are less-than-pretty workarounds, but I'm refraining from fully supporting an update until Permissions 3.1 is released which should include a number of significant bug fixes. When this does occur, however, I have a build ready for you guys that should work. You can download it here. Again, I highly suggest not using this until Permissions 3.1 is released unless you really don't care about prefixes and such.

See you when I get back!

Is your config resetting when you make changes?
If you make changes to the config while the server is running, you need to use the /ch reload command to make the changes stick. I wish this message wasn't necessary, but people only seem to read things in big, bold, red text (if at all).

Have a problem? a feature request? Go here.
HeroChat now has its very own redmine found here. If you have an issue or would like to suggest a new feature, I urge you to file it via redmine. I will be checking this much more often than this thread from here on out.

I read in the wiki that this was possible but couldn't find out how to actually do it.

But I want my default group to only be able to talk in a particular channel and Admins/Mods to be able to see and talk in that channel as well. Then members can simply ignore all the new questions and such. Is this possible?

Any possibilities to add special letter to use the channel shortcut ?

    I think about "!" ":" "?" and others type

Thanks for the bug report. It should be fixed with this update. If you want to test it, make sure you delete the relevant user files while the server OR players are offline.

    Change Log
    Version 4.8.10
    • Fixed a bug with privileged channels and reloads

Set your default channel to whatever this newbie channel is. Add join privileges to all the other channels by adding group names (every group except default) to the join: list. Also make sure this channel has auto-join set to true. This way, everyone will default to this channel, but regular players can just leave it once and never be bothered by it again, while default users will never be able to leave the channel.

  5. Hello, the current link you gave to “CraftBukkitUpToDate” is currently down or possibly incorrect. Could you please send him the new link so I can get the latest version of your plugin. Please and thank you. The link he currently has is "https://github.com/downloads/Herocraft/HeroChat/HeroChat.jar"

    Hey DThielke!
Awesome lugin you have there! I got everything to work, the style and the channels, except one thing.
It is connected via CraftIRC to our IRC, now i would like so that when people from IRC write, it will show in game like this: '[IRC] (nick) : Message'. I tried with color codes, but it was still grey and showed the color codes instead.

Also i have a extra question, is it possible to link 3 in-game channels to 1 IRC-channel, so that when people in IRC write, it only comes out in 1 in-game channel, the Global one preferable.
Right now if I add Global, local and Alert, when you type in-game from any of theese channels it dispays it right in IRC, the channel and nick, but when you type in IRC it displays the message in all 3 in-game channels.. which i dont want.

    Thanks in advance!

Hi, for some reason I just can't seem to get any of my changes to actually work... I want to change the Global nickname from g to Global, and the colour from GREEN to WHITE.

I have the latest HeroChat with Craftbukkit #617.

    My default message format:
    Code:
     default-message-format: '{color}[{nick}] {player}: '
    My global chat setting:
    Code:
        Global:
            craftIRC-tags: []
            color: WHITE
            nickname: Global
            permissions:
                speak: []
                join: []
            message-format: '{default}'
            worlds: []
            password: ''
            lists:
                bans: []
                moderators: []
            options:
                hidden: false
                shortcut-allowed: true
                auto-join: true
                local: false
                cross-world-chat: true
                join-messages: false
                forced: false
I've tried /ch reload and a full server restart, and it's still the default [g] and green text.

    Redyugi

It was in there, but it was broken around 612-ish.
So, instead, the question is could @DThielke add it back?

  12. Offline

    Monkah

Are you ever going to make the ability to have multiple local chats with different ranges?

  13. Offline

    DThielke

    It's already been added.

To the people asking for a CraftBukkitUpToDate support, I'll have a new permalink soon.

I've updated HC to support colors in the irc tag, so this should solve your first issue. Regarding your other question, this isn't currently possible and I probably won't make it so.

If you make the changes while the server is live, save the config and do a /ch reload, your changes will stick. Your console should confirm that HeroChat has been re-enabled.

Also, the old perma-link is back.

Is this plugin supposed to support prefix/suffix's from group manager for setting colors in chat?

I'm using EssentialsGroupManager and here are my chat settings under globals:

    default-message-format: '{prefix}{player}&f: '

The username colors are being set to white, but the groups have custom colors set in EssentialsGroupManager..

That's certainly not something I've seen before. Does this occur with only Permissions+HeroChat enabled?

I do not have the means to test this out at the moment as there are people currently running around(and quiet pissed at me) on the server, so I will get back to you when I've tested this. Though I have noted taht since the 1.4_01 update of minecraft a lot of things seem to be going haywire again. I had an almost-perfect startup for my server yesterday and I was so happy. Now I have 6 plugins quarantined due to spam and lag.

Just tested it when my buddies logged off; no errors whatsoever when just the two are loaded. Must be a plugin conflict?

Sounds like that's the case. You'll have to narrow down which plugin(s) are causing the issue.

You'll need to use Essential's GroupBridge for HeroChat to work with their version of GroupManager.

Is there any way I can completely disable a group (GroupManager) from chat on a channel?

Add the other groups to the speak list.

So to prevent the "Guest" group from talking, I'd just type this in my config file?

    speak: 'Member, VIP:Roleplay, VIP:Builder, Moderator, Super_Admin, Server_Owner'

And thanks for the quick reply!
