A new CraftBukkit for Minecraft 1.6.1 DEVELOPMENT build is now available!

As of this post, we've shifted development over to Minecraft 1.6.1 compatibility and now have development builds available. We strongly suggest that you only use this build if you would like to help us get a Beta build out sooner and are experienced with using unsupported development builds. If you have to ask where or how to get the development build, you should NOT be running it and posts of that nature will be deleted.

WARNING: Minecraft 1.6.1 is an update that requires clients to update before being able to connect.

Will plugins break with this build?
Minecraft 1.6.x has changed how health is stored for entities, which is something plugin developers have been relying on and expecting to never change. Usually a change of this kind would force us to completely break plugins, however, we've managed to come up with a way to support both the old and new health formats without any problems. This means that all the plugins that would have broken from this change will all work fine, giving plugin developers time to update their plugins properly and allowing you to keep your server running without any issues. If you're a plugin developer, you can find more information on this change here.

While we were busy updating CraftBukkit to Minecraft 1.6.1, we realised that the change to how health is handled would cause a lot of headaches for all our server admins and plugin developers, so we spent a lot of time trying to come up with a better way to handle this than simply breaking all plugins. We hope that all the hours we put into this solution will significantly improve your Minecraft 1.6.1 update experience.

Provided the developers of the plugins you are using are keeping up with the development of Bukkit, all your plugins should work fine. Unless we specifically have to break plugins or the plugins you are using are employing inappropriate practice's, most plugins should work without needing an update whenever we put out a new release.

    What is a Developer Build?
A Developer build is provided AS IS and COMPLETELY UNSUPPORTED. You should only be running these builds if you are completely aware of how to properly make use of them. Support requests of ANY KIND will be removed without warning. If you have to ask where or how to get the development build, you should NOT be running it and posts of that nature will be deleted.

Thanks for your continued support, we hope that the extra time we put into avoiding the breaking of plugins makes this Minecraft update a smooth and painless one for everyone.

mbaxter Azowu I spent like 5 minecraft days in an existing server, exploring previously unrendered plains biomes in search of horses. No go.

As a test I started a new world with all my plugins and it was immediately lousy with horses.

I gave up and manually spawned horses everywhere for my players in the existing world.

I updated to build 2805 and randomly happened into a previously unexplored plain, and voila! Horses.

    Have faith!

Are there horse spawners? If so, what types of blocks will they spawn on?

In gamemode 1 you can get horse eggs. They produce random horses, and occasionally mules.

I bred a horse with golden apples. One of my players complained that she couldn't. But it's possible she fed both apples to one horse.

Thanks for keeping this community going, everyone! This dev build has come so fast, awesome! We'd be lost without you! Our server will play safe and wait patiently for the beta; we're happy to hold the horses for now.

Am I the only one with infinitely (self-)reproducing ocelots? It's a mess! They're reproducing faster than I'm able to kill them. Hunderts of ocelots running around my small Minecraft town :-(

That's on my server right now, after spending about 1.5 stacks of arrows:

Update: Removing all entities didn't help either. They'll just spawn all over the jungle biome.

I (actually speaking for quite a few I assume) hate how Minecraft has been updating quite frequently now. Right as the Recommended Build of 1.4.7 was released, Mc 1.5 came out. Now, a stable build of 1.5 was released, and guess what? Minecraft updated again. I'm not much a fan of what updated either, but that's just my opinion, it's whatever floats your boat.

Very excellent work on making this development build super fast! However, I need to make a bug report on the craftbukkit. I seem to notice this thing spamming my console. Even though it doesn't really cause lag on my server, it actually just spams my console and it kind of annoys me. Please look at this link: http://prntscr.com/1drayw

    I
f you want to look at my bukkit server, please PM me. Not sure if I am allowed to advertise public on this forum.

I wish Mojang would stop reimplementing community mod features (e.g. Mo' Creatures vs Horses). If they would just implement a Mod API ... so many problems solved.

From what I've heard, that's when external sites, clients, etc. are pinging your server and getting the message "Outdated Server". It shouldn't really affect anything of your server, but quite a few people are getting this error, so I believe it will be fixed quite soon.:)

I cannot agree any more than you! It seems as if they didn't even take this into consideration.

I love how informed people are -_-... Anyways, there is a Minecraft Mod-API being worked on by Jeb/Dinnerbone (I assume others as well), nick-named workbench (AFAIK)... They did a panel on this at minecon ;)

My players on the server cant seem to light-up a nether portal :/ is there a way to fix this? Is it a BukkitDev issue?

    If anyone posting problems/bugs,
you have to add your #build and some more informations!
(Like "yes, allow-nether is set to true")

With #2507 i've got no problems, ocelot spawning is normal, horses are spawning in the plains,
    and I can light-up a Nether-Portal.

If your server is still 1.5.2, then just use the backdate feature in the new Minecraft launcher.
