    Permissions 3.0
Rcjrrcjr has been working quite hard on this upgrade to Permissions. However, it currently still suffers from a number of bugs. The most important of these which directly affects HeroChat is the non-functioning of prefixes and suffixes. There are less-than-pretty workarounds, but I'm refraining from fully supporting an update until Permissions 3.1 is released which should include a number of significant bug fixes. When this does occur, however, I have a build ready for you guys that should work. You can download it here. Again, I highly suggest not using this until Permissions 3.1 is released unless you really don't care about prefixes and such.

See you when I get back!

Is your config resetting when you make changes?
If you make changes to the config while the server is running, you need to use the /ch reload command to make the changes stick. I wish this message wasn't necessary, but people only seem to read things in big, bold, red text (if at all).

Have a problem? a feature request? Go here.
HeroChat now has its very own redmine found here. If you have an issue or would like to suggest a new feature, I urge you to file it via redmine. I will be checking this much more often than this thread from here on out.

Show your thanks! Maintaining plugins like HeroChat is very nearly a full time job. Hmm when I do /tell player it starts the conversation, but there is no way to end it. Another tell says I started conversation (even when I started before) and /ch g and stuff say I switched channel, but still writing to the player.

Thanks :) But I think it should also do that when you switch a channel? Or you type the same command again. We tried it on test server and none of us 3 figured it out :D

    DThielke

I can definitely make switching channels end a conversation.

    instead of
    [g] [Owner] [Name]: ................Message

I want it to do the second one but am have trouble

Another suggestion for the /tell: Make the target player available as a variable in the message format.

  10. I went to pastebin the users.yml and noticed it was empty with the text "null" in it. It was previously creating the users.yml fine because I had backups from when it had previously asked me to delete the users.yml. I deleted it and restarted the server and the users.yml was recreated but was still not being written to. I then upgraded to your latest bug release and everything is working normally again.

I'll keep an eye on it and let you know if it starts acting up again.

Are you running iChat or EssentialsChat? You'll have to disable them if you are. If not, could you give me a full server log from start up?

  13. I wish it supported the Group Manager plugin. A widely used admin panel (McMyAdmin) has group manager integration and im limited to that for now. I would love to use this plugin, but it dosnt appear to support group manager :(

It is possible that support will be added for this?

  14. Offline

    DThielke

As far as I know, it works just fine through GroupManager's Permissions wrapper (FakePermissions). I do not plan on adding direct support for GroupManager.

Do you plan on adding support for dynamic map by frozencow? If i go into the admin channel to discuss private things with other admins anyone can read it on the dynamic map. It would be nice to disable certain channels from showing up in the dynamic map chat.

I suggest using a standalone plugin such as the one found here: http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/chat-simplealias-v0-2-1-chat-name-aliases-531.4944/. I try to avoid bloating HeroChat with features like this that are better off delegated to individual plugins.

I've looked at the source for Dynmap and there's no way to do this from my end. It would have to be something done on Dynmap's end.

    QQCucumber

CraftIRC compatibility throws a monkey wrench into that philosophy. Right now to be compatible, HeroChat has to take over sending messages back and forth between Minecraft and IRC, yes? Well, a name changing plugin would have to do the same thing in order to be compatible with CraftIRC, and as such it wouldn't be compatible with your plugin.

  19. Offline

    DThielke

Err, that's not true. Plugins use a player's actual name (their login) internally; a name changing plugin, on the other hand, only changes the player's display name, which is entirely independent of their actual name.

  20. Offline

    QQCucumber

Riiight, but CraftIRC only sends their actual name, and won't send a display name. Which means there are no plugins that change your display name that are compatible with CraftIRC right now.

The only chat plugin that is compatible with CraftIRC is your's and it uses a workaround method that disables CraftIRC's events in favor of your own. If another plugin were to do this, it wouldn't be compatible with your's for obvious reasons.

Is there the possibility for forcing a player to leave the chat upon joining a new one, so someone can only be in one channel than several?

  27. Offline

    DThielke

This isn't currently possible and I don't really see myself adding it in the future, as it defeats one of the main purposes of the plugin. If you really don't want to be part of a conversation, then get used to the /leave command.

    Suggestion:

You should add an option to make it so you can do [WorldName][Channel]<playername>: <text>

Adding the world name to it. I noticed that multiverse has added this into the chat but your plugin unfortunately overwrites that feature of the plugin.

    Hope to see this added!

Mh, could you maybe add a Tag for the recieving player if using the /tell Private Channel? This would be neccesary to define a more usefull formation for it like:
    '{prefix}{player} &8->&f {otherplayer} '

When i want to mute a player, I do by exemple :
    Code:
    /ch mute [channel] (player)

It doesnt work, it says it can't join the channel ''mute''
What is the command? same thing with ''gmute''
