    Hey guys !
As a designer I'm "annoyed" by ugly design. I like all the things I work with to be as nice as possible, but I think the bukkit interface can be a bit better in my opinion. I don't know if it's possible to make or not but I made a little "wannabe GUI" for bukkit.

    I hope you like it.

*P.S. I'm not a programmer or a developer so I don't know if the GUI I made is correct or possible but I think it would look cool having a GUI like this instead of the ugly comand prompt.

Looks good to me, but I'm a fan of command line, which is damn pretty in my eyes. :)

Well you do run your server on Linux so you can customize the command prompt any way you want, but on Windows the command prompt is ugly as hell ...

I used to use MCAdmin for that very reason, the GUI. I soon realized it was really the only thing I did like about it - nonetheless, should be possible. His GUI is amazing, but the rest of it hey0, and now Bukkit, seems to be more to my liking.

    Would be cool and possible.
But do people really sit there looking at the sever console for fun?

My server is command line only, so while I do understand GUI is nice for many others, it isn't helpful for me :)
    Now implement it in ncurses.....

Well I for one when I'm not on the server and I'm working on some client project I peek into the server command prompt just to see how are people doing and if I have to do something, like kick, ban or something else.

If I only knew how I would. Because I love to make GUI's for programs :)

maybe a gui like the bios screen would be awesome. could work in linux ( like the OS install things)
much better than windows and not neccesary to have a bloated desktop installed like kde or gnome.

    edit:
learned a new thing to day
TUI. Thats what we need :)

    Edit2:
I'm with you and didnt know it, croxis ;)

Since my server runs on Windows, I actually always have the server console up (RDP'd into my server, Minecraft runs next to the RDP window). Next to console is task manager to see how much memory and CPU java is using (CPU at 100% for 6 hours last night, feels bad man). I'd love a gui, because I am that guy that just sits and stares at it all day ;)

Oh and by the way I submitted this GUI as a feature here . Support it if you think it's going to be a good idea.

I think there should be a plugin, but more like MCAdmin. Yours is good too, but there's some extra things in MCadmin that are very good too. More buttons (restart, kill), and managing the server too (changing files etc.)

and your point, have you released BSM yet? If not then the name IMO is fair game still

    ok well
bsm is released when bukkit supports sql and such
but anyway a gui of the server is not a manager :)

    well, no
    should i get those

well that costs money so no

well technically it could be considered a manager as you can use commands to change manage the server as from the looks of it it has a command line entry

i wouldn't bother as Bukkit as anyone (including myself) would either not use the name or if they did they would change upon request

Instead of having black and bold timestamps (which aren't really important), maybe you should emphasize the chat messages?

I would like a gui similar to mcadmin where you could edit groups, kits, server properties, and ect with plugins.

That is bsm going that way

i hope you are doing it in a modular way, like with tabs, so a plugin could make a new tab for itself, as that would make it awesome

if a plugin developer creates a plugin for bsm with our API
    it has acces to:
    • create new tabs
    • create new menu items
    • create new forms
    • create listbox items
    • add itself to the about list
    • etc.
