Say goodby to the bugs with v1.2.2.142!
Things that were fixed in the development build are now also fixed for release!
From now on, we'll focus more on the mono support, so everything works again on linux/mac :)

    • Load/unload all plugins , like the plugin PlugMan does and the GUI; Bukkit Server GUI
    • Show active/inactive plugins
    • Show active/inactive players
    • Kill Players
    • Show the inventory of another player
    • Edit the inventory of another player
    • Java process priority selection
    • Server Log search
    • Updated list of players(online/offline) and worlds
    • Automatic plugin updates
    • Custom skins and more languages (Dutch :D)
    • Plugin config editor
    • Permissions editor (EssentialsGroupManager)
    • Separated chat/error/command/warning log saver
    • World map (dynmap)
    • Remote server explanation (because I don't get it!)
    • Server website/browser access
TIP: Ask help from other people/developers OR work together with the other GUI/Pail maker!

    • Load/unload other plugins
    • Load/unload all plugins , like the plugin PlugMan does and the GUI; Bukkit Server GUI
    • Show active/inactive plugins
No, those require a plugin. I try to keep this GUI compatible with as many as possible bukkit builds - an update won't break the GUI.
    • Show active/inactive players
I could add this, though this is a minor thing now.
    • Kill Players
    • Show the inventory of another player
    • Edit the inventory of another player
    Needs a plugin, so no

    • Java process priority selection
    • Server Log search
    • Updated list of players(online/offline) and worlds

    • Automatic plugin updates
    Planned
    • Custom skins and more languages (Dutch :D)
    Dutch is supported.
    • Plugin config editor
Each plugin has his own files, his own formats, so this is tricky to do. A function to see plugin files etc. might be added in a later version.
    • Permissions editor (EssentialsGroupManager)
Same as the config editor, there are multiple systems, each having their own format. But might be added in a later version.
    • Separated chat/error/command/warning log saver
Errors and warnings are shown in a different log. Not saved, though. I might add this later.
    • World map (dynmap)
No, would probably cause too much system load for only a few people using it.
    • Remote server explanation (because I don't get it!)
    See the help pages
    • Server website/browser access
TIP: Ask help from other people/developers OR work together with the other GUI/Pail maker!
    Might be added later

changelogs are always included by the files on bukkitDev. I'll update the changelogs here and on the bukkitdev main page when I have time.
You can also see the latest changes in the built-in updater.

Just wondering when i go more info on a plugin does it grab there permissions for it from dev.bukkit.com/

also with the plugin updater its going to dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/antixray
    instead of http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/anti-x-ray/
also it dosen't auto-update addons like simpleregionmarket as its dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/scs instead of the full plugin name.

Permissions etc. are loaded from the plugin .jar file. Updates etc. are loaded from bukget, which is an API for bukkitdev.
Sometimes the URL isn't 100% correct. It's just difficult to link the name (from the plugin.jar file) with the slug, the name in the URL, if there are spaces etc in name. Also, for example multiWorld is named multiWorldv2 on bukkitdev, so that plugin can't be linked yet.$

Maybe have something called config.xml or links.xml and you put it in like this
    - plugin-name:dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/essentials/files.rss so that it can get updates for the plugins it can't find?
    or something like that :)

Nice! Would be wonderful if you could make a mini remote server wrapper, so we could start/stop our servers without opening putty :p

Will there be a version of this for Macs?

I'm trying to get it working with mono so it can also run on Mac and linux, however this is very time consuming.

A new version will be rolled out within seconds!
Fixes the problems with chinese output (partially, maybe all issues will be fixed)

v1.4.5.260 is awaiting approval on bukkitdev

    IMPORTANT!
For some reason my ISP decided to alter some DDOS stuff.
The new version will be better in handling stuff like this, though the older versions might not prompt for an auto update.
It is recommended that you check for updates!

The program should now work almost completely on chinese systems and other languages with special characters.

Hi there, in the description, it said that MCPC is supported, but, when i try to launch, all i get is a freeze of bukkitgui and nothing more happens. the server would never launch.
I use the last version of mcpc and bukkitgui.

    Answered on bukkitdev, updated description.
Set server type to vanilla, generic java, or to bukkit with disabled "retrieve current version on server start"

    mcferson

Excellent ! Disabling "retrieve current version on server start" is enough.

    Thanks a lot !

  18. I was using another server wrapper until recently, I then came onto this and I don't think I'll ever look back. Amazing work!

Just drop the GUI in the same folder as craftbukkit.jar, then run the GUI :)
Go to superstart and select your craftbukkit file.

Sorry for the late reply, this is a minecraft issue/an issue with the server. The people at MCPC will be able to help you with this.

To all users who are using the GUI, or all people who are currently hosting a minecraft server:
I'm working on a successor of BukkitGUI, but I need feedback to know which parts are the most important, where I should provide something better or what's not used.
Please fill out this short survey to help the development of the next generation of this control panel / GUI.
    http://survey.bukkitgui.net

Also, an update will be rolled out within the coming 2 weeks. Development is quite slow right now as I'm having my finals.

You can use the remote JSONAPI feature to run the GUI on your computer (windows) and connect to the server (running on linux or any other operating system) with limited features. I'm working on a new program that will have full support for linux.

    Suggestions:
    • Make the GUI look a bit prettier perhaps! E.g. maybe on the console give it a black background (replace white colouring with black and vice-versa)
    • Make the player's icon represent their skins face :)
    Awesome job! :D

(You had to view this topic by seeing my signature so many times, didn't you? :p )

    Thanks!
They already represent their skins face :) however, if the player name isn't detected correctly (e.g. there's a prefix shown etc) the skin might not load correctly.

I can't really style it much, however, I started working on something that will have the same (more!) functionality, which is more user-friendly and which looks nicer (read: sexy!)
The whole thing will get cross-platform and make use of a web interface (access your server from ALL the places worldwide *insert ALL meme here*) . I'll need to improve my Css skills though :p but the new program will be able to have styles, as it's just replacing some css :)

The program isn't discontinued. It is possible that there are rather long periods of inactivity in this topic, however, be sure to check out the bukkitdev page, the start post, and get.bertware.net

    Important update - v1.6.3.405

This version fixes all known issues with the task manager.
Task which are running twice, tasks which aren't running, tasks which run even while they're deleted, tasks which don't change behaviour while their settings are changed, ... are all fixed.
Also, there's a browse output dialog to read the server output at your own pace. You can also copy text from there.

The taskmanager got a little buggy recently, so this should fix everything :)
