I cannot name how many times I comment on a BukkitDev plugin page and completely forget that I commented on it the next day. I end up going back to the plugin's BukkitDev site when it's time to update and I see my comment with a response to it. I could respond, only it's a month (or more) late.
Implementing an alerts system, similar to the one on Bukkit Forums, would be extremely helpful! Or at least receiving an email when a user responds to your comment, ticket, or forum post. This, in my opinion, would be another great feature to add to the awesome project! It would allow for a closer community through better and faster communication!

Although they could improve it of course... But this has been pointed out many times before.

Ah yes they do have that feature, but as Lolmewn said, it could have a lot of improvement.

This is certainly something that is on our wishlist with Curse.

It is definitely a planned feature. I personally have my own hosted site and firefox/chrome addon, and although the site is itching to be used by the public it cannot be, mainly because it messes up your ip address history.
My javascript isn't good, but maybe one day I could reimplement it locally without the need for backend webserver.
Until then, you will find out for sure when the feature is added.

I can probably do that with a GreeseMonkey script :)

Yeah this is based off a backend scraper server and frontend greasemonkey script. Making the backend the frontend is probably only a 40min-1h job but I have sooooo much to do.

Just tweaking a user script, need to test it for a few days before releasing.

See, all it took was a little competition :p The main problem is that you still need to store the data, and you can only really do that locally which means alerts are per-machine.
