Exactly. Just 'cause Essentials is more common than CommandBook doesn't mean it's superior. It just means there are a lot of server admins who are too lazy to look for something more lightweight and high-quality.

I don't mean the #1 best plugin, i should make plugin plural in the title. But usally if a plugin is common, it's rather good.

I said nothing directed at you, but you do bring up a point that this is entirely subjective. Even PEX made this list, and its been known to outright break CraftBukkit.

I'l rename this to "Most popular plugins" as thats what it seams to be more, and later il add comments on some of the plugins, such as the bugs for PEX

    Indeed.
This is a community list, where I take recommendations from everyone else, and I'l add reviews of some of the plugins tonight as well.
I don't expect this to become a primary source for finding plugins, but for those "what a good plugin for this and that.

Why is Lockette there but not Deadbolt?

Also, you can add... FamilyJewels(?) to that list of AntiXray plugins. I've heard it's great and takes up significantly less resources than Orebfuscator does.

well since the topic has changed, I am highly surprised it is missing some voids.

    spoutplugin
    vault
    dynamp
    .....
    essentials
    we/wg
    .....

yes i am aware i stated multiple already listed but is this not what you are doing now. if you wanted to find the popular plugins, wouldn't one just go visit the site called: mcstats.org

in my opinion i see this being a thread to get those under dogs (non popular plugins) a chance to get popular

buy who am i to judge.

I like the changes you did to this thread, now you are on the right page. This is going to being a heavily demanding task, far as keeping everything up-to-date. choose wisely for each description as it could create a raging/flame war from immature parties. good luck :p

madmac Thank you, I'm going to finish it tonight, and I usually tend to stay up to date with plugins, but I also like people to comment on the thread on their own options so I can calculate everything together to the most reasonable solution for the reviews and /best/ plugins. Bit of a run-on sentence but meh. Thanks for the positive comment!

    Finished the reviews :D

Please don't mis-represent this plugin. The flat-file handler (default) will completely break in certain circumstances (threaded transactions) causing a server-wide wipe of all economy data. In addition the sql-connector suffers from race- conditions where the transactions aren't ACID compliant causing stale data to be returned if transactions are triggered too quickly.

I suggest adding CraftConomy to the list as it's updated fairly regularly and it's compatibility/stability is much better than the other options.

Ok thanks, I don't use it anymore but I see other servers with it so I wasn't quite sure on the current status, but I will for sure add that plugin.

this is full of wrong information.

    1. essentialschat works fine with Bpermissions
    2. essentials /nick uses displayname, if chat plugin uses displayname, it supports it
    3. GroupManager is NOT made for small, basic servers. its made for BIG servers. the entire mirroring system is made so you can perfectly control multiworld servers, and to handle a large amount of players. i wouldnt consider Bpermissions "most advanced" (it has more or less the same features like the other common permission plugins)

this is why i dislike lists of "best plugins". they are completely based on opinion and false information.

`1: I used essentials chat with bPermissoins for a while, and 80% of the time a users prefix did not show, so yes it works perfectly.
2: bChat doesn't support essentials /nick, its true, how is it false?
3: Every server owner I've talked to who owns a big server and has at one point used Group manager hated it, including me. It's made for basic permissions, nothing advanced.
4: Take pex, it does not have custom nodes, it does not organize your permissions alphabetically, it does not split your groups and users into separate files in separate worlds, it does not have priority, it does not have fast yaml, and it bugs out and breaks craftbukkit.

If you don't like the thread, then why even bother reading it?

    TnT

That is incorrect. PEX does break CraftBukkit. This should explain it: http://goo.gl/MHhbl

That was a typo, lol. I was trying to say pex is terrible and meant to say it breaks craftbukkit. XD

I'm still not sure on which plugins are "worthy" of being on here and which are not...

According to this (see below), this is a general list where anyone can suggest a plugin.
