When will CraftBukkit for 1.3 be released?

    With the Minecraft 1.3 release date fast approaching, a lot of people are wondering when we will be releasing a CraftBukkit Recommended Build for Minecraft 1.3. We hope this short announcement will answer those questions.

    Due to the size of the impending 1.3 update, we are unable to guarantee that we'll have a compatible CraftBukkit Recommended Build out in time for the release of Minecraft 1.3. Although we started working on the update immediately after the Minecraft 1.3 preview was made available to the public, a lot of things were added, removed and changed in Minecraft from 1.2.5 and, as such, this update requires more work than usual to get things up and running. That being said, we'll continue to do our best to get an update out within a reasonable amount of time and will likely follow our usual policy of promoting the first Recommended Build the moment we get something that compiles and runs without any testing done whatsoever.

    As we have done a significant amount of important work on CraftBukkit 1.2.5 builds since our last RB, we'll be promoting a new Recommended Build shortly. This is done so that people have a reliable, stable build to use until we can get a 1.3 compatible build out and so that everyone who relies on Recommended Builds are able to take advantage of all the fixes, improvements and so on we've done since the last 1.2.5 RB.

    Not trying to be impatient but my friends are really bugging me about the server not being up so i know it takes alot of time to make the thingy (wtf did i just say) but i was wandering when it will be done?

    I understand that many are having problems, but I would like to point out that many of us are running just
    fine with the latest CB 1.3 Dev version and other than the worldguard lava/water issue, we are running great.

    Thank you Bukkit Team! Every build works better than the last so far and we have seen none of the mob count, console errors etc..

    Currently averaging around 20 to 30 online at any time, 50 plugins and lowest TPS we see is 18.8

    Quick question, I want to update to the 1.3.1 dev build but nervous about what it will do to my map on the server. How do I update the map to 1.3 without losing it or crashing?

    Safest bet is to just do a hard backup of your world files and store them somewhere safe. Nothing much would change in your maps unless you start generating a bunch of new land, even then the risks are there, but not as bad if you keep a backup.

    So if i update the server, how will the new chunks load with emerald ore and such on a map that was 1.2.5?

    With 40-50 players on 1.2.5 we had a steady 20, I'd be worried at it going down with 20-30

    Our second server with 20 players on, thats been on most of the day, with 49 plugins:

    nah as I said, that is the lowest we ever see. We hold a solid 20 for the most part but we do see a slight spike once in a while. Seems to be the old "chestshop" being accessed spike or something similar.

    All in all, for running the devs on a production (crazy I know) we do alright. Granted it IS a temp map for now :)


    Edit: That was mainly due to seeing some folks posting 1 to 10 TPS with roughly the same amount of people. Ram is crucial I would say at least for now in the early stage.

    They won't. You have to generate new land by going far away from the previous land.
    I'm sorry, but if there was a stupid button for your post, I would hit it. For one, how will screaming HELP ME PLEASE! make people want to help you. Also, several pages back multiple people have reported this, and a couple have even explained why it's not working. Just wait for citizens to update, then it'll be fine.

    ATTENTION PEOPLE if you are having the same error i was where multiverse would not teleport you to a world because it said it was "corrupt" simply do the following:
    Get essentials if you do not have it
    In the config folder for essentials go to user data
    Find your name and open the file
    Find where it says your spawnpoint
    Change the world to the world you cant teleport to
    Log out and reload
    Log in and it should work :D

    Running the latest dev build just to test out..

    only a few plugins had errors (oreb,combattag,minebackup) and it seems ive lost all my worldguard regions some how lol so they will need redone.

    apart from that it "seems" to be running fine.

    just running a temp backup just now ill restore the main backup when an RB is released.

    i take that back... server is starting to die now lol using resources that it shouldnt and lagging with 3 people on it heh.

    What exactly is your Minebackup doing? Mine is bugging out and spamming the console with:

    [WARNING] [MineBackup] WorldSave detected. If a person triggered it then ignore this message. However, if another world save plugin is responsible, then you should uninstall it before it saves while a backup is in progress.

    I've been having major performance issues as well, not quite sure what happens. Also I've gotten several instances where the whole world entity crashes and nothing but chat functions so I have to restart the server.

    You can update the old chunks with worldedit's //regen command. Just select the area you want to be regenerated with the worldedit wand or with //pos1 and //pos2 and then execute //regen.

    Actually, it was probably locked for a period of time due to it getting too offtopic and busy.

    The dev build I'm currently running is running great except for the npcs not working but that is the only problem I have at them moment.
