With the Minecraft 1.3 release date fast approaching, a lot of people are wondering when we will be releasing a CraftBukkit Recommended Build for Minecraft 1.3. We hope this short announcement will answer those questions.

Due to the size of the impending 1.3 update, we are unable to guarantee that we'll have a compatible CraftBukkit Recommended Build out in time for the release of Minecraft 1.3. Although we started working on the update immediately after the Minecraft 1.3 preview was made available to the public, a lot of things were added, removed and changed in Minecraft from 1.2.5 and, as such, this update requires more work than usual to get things up and running. That being said, we'll continue to do our best to get an update out within a reasonable amount of time and will likely follow our usual policy of promoting the first Recommended Build the moment we get something that compiles and runs without any testing done whatsoever.

As we have done a significant amount of important work on CraftBukkit 1.2.5 builds since our last RB, we'll be promoting a new Recommended Build shortly. This is done so that people have a reliable, stable build to use until we can get a 1.3 compatible build out and so that everyone who relies on Recommended Builds are able to take advantage of all the fixes, improvements and so on we've done since the last 1.2.5 RB.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support; we greatly appreciate it!

Sorry if I am asking a question that everyone is asking but is it worth to download this build or should I wait.. I am a geek so I can work around errors but is it worth my time to upgrade

If you host a public server, then it may even be best to wait until the second RB. If its just a private server, backup your server and try out the Dev Build

I woulda just thought it was a ninja creeper, since you don't see them when/after they blow up.

The cause to your problem may be that you have not recreated your 'RUN.bat' file as well as putting the new craftbukkit file in. So delete your original 'RUN.bat' file and simply make a new one. It's probably a good idea to keep an eye on the RUN.bat file while its loading up your server because you might get some strange error you would like to report to the bukkit team.

Click the donate button and give them about $20 bucks and you'll get 1.3.1 in a few days. I did.

Dang hope this lag is sorted soon. 49 players online and running at 4.9 TPS on a 6gb server that used to be able to hold 200 players no problem.

I hope you're aware players can move items from a Creative world onto a Survival world with EnderChests.

And that wouldn't be an issue if you hadn't jumped the gun and upgraded to a development release. You have nobody to blame but yourself.

Lol I never blamed anyone. Believe me, I thought about my options. I'd rather have 50 people on the server and deal with the lag, than have 5 people on the server running 1.2.

Put item ID 130 on the WorldGuard blacklist for the creative world. Problem solved.

    Nope. Works just fine.

Yep. I did that for my Hardcore Factions world and my Pure Vanilla world. As of right now, I went back to 1.2.5 (I WANT MAH DYNMAPZ). But I hear the latest build fixes Dynmap. The lag is just too unbearable for right now. I hope that this is sorted out in the Recommended Build for R1.0.

I meant I will run the first untested version of Bukkit. If it screws ma stuff up or any plugins don't work I will tell staff/ post it here. I don't expect it though.

True. But don't you need WorldGuard updated to recognize that ID number?

well no, I did not create a new run.bat file. i just edited the old one as i was doin with all the other new versions before. and i have the new bukkit file playced right and do not get any errors while startin the server. maybe i just wait and the problem solves itself.

I must say, THANKS everyone who works with bukkit. You've done an amazing job releasing the first devbuild so quick.

Sure, some wants a RB, understandable. But then again the devbuilds works wonders for being such early release.

Thanks so much for all hard work and effort!

Why wait for the RB. What's the risk using this devbuild? Can somebody tell me?

You can use the Development Build if you wish, but there will be bugs + errors not yet fixed which will hopefully be fixed for the Recommended Build. It's perfectly fine to use it if you want to though. I recommend that people with a multi-player server wait till the Recommended Build though, less messing around and you save time.

But you can always update later to the RB. Or is that a stupid thought?
