Inactive [ADMN] CraftBukkitUpToDate v2.6.7 - Keep your Server/Plugins up to date [1185]

Discussion in 'Inactive/Unsupported Plugins' started by NoFear13, Feb 20, 2011.

  1. After the plugin detect a new build, it download to bukkit_update in the main-Folder. After that you must stop your server and copy the craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar from bukkit_update to your main-Folder.
After Version 1.4 I support plugins if a new version found it download to build_update/plugins. After that stop your server and copy/move the new files to your plugin-Folder

This is no autoupdater, it only download the new Version do the update-Folder, the user have to copy the files. On this way, he know which plugins he update and can check if he like to update.

I recommend to save your old craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar/plugin before update. Not all builds from CraftBukkit work correctly.

For more infos and download: http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/craftbukkituptodate/

  12. Yes, of course, post your script, I'm a Windows-User so I can't use it but for Linux-User this is a great idea. I can link it in my first post, if you like.
A little Question: Isn't this a problem if you overwrite files which are in use?

That would be nice but I don't see much of a point as I would have to stop the server anyways to move the plugin and at that point what effort is it to drag and drop?

Dont know if you use Windows, but i can remove addons and overwrite then without problems (Ubuntu Server)

Im in the car atm, im home soon, ill be able to work faster :>

btw, maybe you can add support for auto-update plugin in plugin dir?

i cant drag n drop over SSH, there are users that runs on none desktop-environment ;)

    Okay!

    Here is the script:
    https://pastebin.com/rwAjvRFQ

    How-To:
    1. save https://pastebin.com/rwAjvRFQ as update.sh
    2. edit update.sh (read comments inside file)
    3. run: crontab -e
    4. add: 0 * * * * bash PATH-TO/update.sh

The script does not kill the minecraft server, just shut it down and start it again and you have your last version of the plugins!

PM me if you have problems!
I will not bite.... hard.. ;)

They aren't my plugins, but you should really bug the creators of Craftbook and Worldedit to let you add their plugins. It would be a big help!

  18. I write to the Author, he think about that, I hope he will change his links. But I can't promise this.

Would it be possible to add have a user created plugins.properties file. There is one or two plugins that I use that the authors refuse to support this plugin (WFT?). Because of this they shouldnt appear on the downloaded plugins.properties file, but it would be great to be able to create my own as some of them already use a static download location.

Thus if there was a user.plugins.properties file, I could add them to that, and CraftBukkitUpToDate could check that as a secondary reference. If a plugin is listed twice (both files) use the main plugins.properties.

This way, whilst waiting for authors to come around, I still get the benefits of your plugin, and once they do come around, I wont have to worry about my file conflicting if they provide a new location to you.

    Please consider.

  21. Added. Thanks for the links.
    [MERGETIME="1299882857"][/MERGETIME]
I could add this in the next release.
By the way, what plugins do you mean exactly?

I have about 10 plugins stil that are not on the list, a few are probably abandoned, but Stargate plugin is not looking to support this, but uses a static link to his .jar download, because of this, having a personally editable secondary file would allow me to keep tabs on these, without offending the dev by submitting to this plugin if he doesnt wish it.

The other plugins are from sk89q, WorldEdit, WorldGuard and the 3 odd others he makes. Not sure why he hasnt supported this, but same thing would be great to personally have them on a list.

  23. sk89q haven't any static links, every link contains the Version-Number, but I spoken with him and he think about do change this.

A big Problem is the missunderstanding, the most plugin-Authors thinks this is a Autoupdater, but it isn't it only checks if there a new Version and download it to the update-Folder, no autoupdate, for this reason they don't like to add there plugins, because they thinks this could make Problems because for some updates you have to change your config-File or something else to get it work. For this reason I will never ever implement a autoupdate-Function. I will add this Declaration to the first post, perhaps this will help to understand what this plugin doing.

By the way, I will add the userplugins.properties in the next Version (2.1).

  26. Your GroupManager-Config (groups.yml) is wrong and can't be parsed. Please check it or send it to me or the plugin-Author of GroupManager, because this isn't really a problem of CButD.

Btw., I shout rename the plugin to zCraftBukkitUpToDate than a other plugin throw the exception :p
