    I won't port LogBlock myself to mcAPI. Source code is available, so it shouldn't be to difficult for someone else to do it, also I'm still here. so I can answer questions. If there is more than one willing, that's up to you to handle that.

    The reasons I take this step, are the usual: I quit playing Minecraft about 5 months ago and lastly I was struggling to keep up with updates. The developement of Guardian made slow progress, so I fear it won't be ready to fully replace LB in time.

    Description:

    LogBlock logs block changes into a MySQL database. Block changes can be placed or destroyed block, explosions, burned blocks, sign text changes, chest access, leaves decay etc.
    It can be used as griefer identification tool, to find out who build a particular building, or even roll back changes by certain players. Other purposes can be e.g: Undoing of forest fires
    All additional features are optional, to keep the database as short as possible. All database actions run in their own threads to avoid server lags.
    The use of permissions plugin (or any clone) is possible, but not necessary.
    Uses Spout for chest logging (but it's fully optional, and there is no need for the client mod at all).

    Features:
    • Logging for block placing, block braking, fire, explosions, leaves decay, signtexts, lava flow and chest content
    • Very mighty commands system, not only allowing to rollback and redo, but also to tp to blockchanges, delete log ingame etc. Full list of commands.
    • Many parameters for lookup/rollback/redo/tp/clearlog commands: Block changes of one ore more player, in a specific area, in a world edit selection, specific block types only, block changes older or newer that a specific date, destroyed/created block only, in a different world and combinations of all these parameters. Full list of parameters.
    • Rebuilding map after importing a backup (/lb redo)
    • Last parameter to use the parameters of the last command
    • Quick ingame lookup of block history a wood pickaxe or a bedrock block.
    • All commands accessible from console (exept tools :D)
    • Custom queries for tools.
    • Different tool modes (lookup, rollback, redo, writelogfile and clearlog)
    • Saves block data like wool color, log type, torch adjustment, etc
    • Multiworld and multiserver support (some servers sharing the same database)
    • BigBrother log import
    • Loggable super pickaxe plugin (not to confuse with WorldEdit's super pickaxe)
    • API
    • Webstats
    Why to use LogBlock:

    Example commands: (thanks to tha d0ctor, read more about commands here)

    /lb rollback player fire since 1d3h – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours
    /lb rollback player fire since 1d3h area 15 – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours within a radius of 15 blocks

    /lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1h - rolls back thad0ctor 1 hour
    /lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1d area 5 – rolls back thad0ctor actions for the last day within 5 blocks
    /lb rollback area 10 since 1h30m - rolls back all modifications within 10 blocks since the list 1 hours and 30 mins
    /lb rollback area 10 before 06.11.2011 - roll back all changes in an area of 1o before June 11th, 2011
    /lb rollback player thad0ctor since 05:36:00 - roll back all changes of thad0ctor since 05:36 (server time)

    How to post error messages:

    I won't aswer questions to general MySQL setup/installation/what is MySQL (there are lots of good tutorials out there, use google)
    Please read the installation guide before asking a question about installation problems.
    Please read the FAQ before posting a error report. It may be solved there.
    In case of rollback or lookup problems: Type /lb savequeue and try again (when it's fixed then, it was a consumer problem, see FAQ)
    When you post error messages, it's important to paste the whole stack trace!

    Damn.
    The problem is we have a fairly large number of people who have it, and there is no way of telling who since it didn't start just after we gave someone it.
    Sorry if that's been asked before.

    Hello, I really would love to use this plugin, but I'm running into a bit of an issue that I didn't seem to find in this thread. I did everything else that I can think of properly, but I still get this:

    According to the error message (can't find MySQl driver) ,I would say that you didn't place the mysql-connector-java-bin.jar properly or. If this doesn't solve the issue, try deleting the line with driver in the config (the whole line).

    Ty, and I'm alredy working on it. There will be an a extra table for it, just like signtexts. And it will be optional.
    [MERGETIME="1299801995"][/MERGETIME]
    I'm also working on an optimized database. With some reformatting the db will only have a third of the current size. With some adjusted data types I alredy got 30% off:
    Code:
    ALTER TABLE `%table%` MODIFY `type` TINYINT UNSIGNED NOT NULL DEFAULT '0';
    ALTER TABLE `%table%` MODIFY `replaced` TINYINT UNSIGNED NOT NULL DEFAULT '0';
    ALTER TABLE `%table%` MODIFY `x` SMALLINT NOT NULL DEFAULT '0';
    ALTER TABLE `%table%` MODIFY `y` TINYINT UNSIGNED NOT NULL DEFAULT '0';
    ALTER TABLE `%table%` MODIFY `z` SMALLINT NOT NULL DEFAULT '0';
    (don't use this, if your map has a radius largen than 32767, use MEDIUMINT for x and z)

    I need just a few more bits of information and I can finally launch a protected server.

    In the config file...

    defaultDist: 20
    username: user
    password: pass
    worldTables: - lb-main
    url: jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/db
    worldNames: - world
    driver: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver
    logExplosions: false

    Im guessing...username and password are the user and password to the db. The url would be the url to the db (obviously). worldNames? Just the name of my world (Area6) after the dash right?

    Driver?? What is this?
    logExplosions??
    defaultDist??
    worldTables???

    Another thing...
    I am still running into the same problem as I did in big brother. TO CREATE THE TABLE...how many fields would I use?

    [IMG]
    In any case lets just say I created 10. Thats enough right?
    What type of field would they be classified as? Would I just leave them as VarChar? I figure that would accomidate for anything. But then what about the name of the fields?

    Driver: Don't touch this, default will work.
    logExplosions: Logging for tnt and creeper explosions.
    defaultDist: Default radius for some /lb commands
    worldTables: The names of the tables that are used for the worlds.
    Don't create a new table, just goto query and execute the table creation statement. Or just let them be autocreated.
    [MERGETIME="1299849891"][/MERGETIME]
    News: Chest logging is written, but not tested.
    I'm still reformating the db. It will be a lot smaller (I'm aiming for a reduction of two thirds) and therefore faster.
    [MERGETIME="1299862235"][/MERGETIME]
    Released v0.7
    Added chest logging. (It logs who opened a chest, not who took something, will be updated when the hook is ready)
    Shortened database to a half or even a third. Please update your db.

    How do I...what is the program that automatically creates the table? Is it mysql-connector-java-bin.jar? If so, do I just launch my server after configuring config.yml?
    [MERGETIME="1299864523"][/MERGETIME]
    Last thing. For worldTables, is that the name of the table automatically made by LB? If so do I just leave it as it is or do I need to update it when the table is made?

  12. Offline

    DiddiZ

    LogBlock itself can create the tables. Yes, setup the config and launch.
    [MERGETIME="1299864695"][/MERGETIME]
    Yes, you're right. You don't really need to change the name, unless you are running multiple servers with only one db.

    I get a communications link failure...

    I am trying to connect to a database on a different server (not my computer). For now I am using 000webhost. Php and mysql are enabled.

    I set up a MySQL database with this information.

    Using this information....this should work right?

    defaultDist: 20
    usePermissions: false
    logFire: true
    toolblockRemove: true
    defaultTime: 30 minutes
    toolblockID: 7
    password: PASSWORD
    worldTables:
    - lb-main
    url: jdbc:mysql://mysql9.000webhost.com/a8629185_lbdb
    keepLogDays: -1
    username: a8629185_mcuser
    worldNames:
    - Area6
    driver: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver
    delay: 6
    logExplosions: true
    toolID: 270

    Could it be because of an antivirus blocking communication (though my antivirus has been really good about not blocking anything important)? Bad information in the config file? Or is it 000webhost that wouldn't allow this...

    Try:
    Code:
    url: jdbc:mysql://mysql9.000webhost.com:3306/a8629185_lbdb

    If this doesn't help, it's either your firewall, or 000webhost doesn't forward port 3306 to the db.

    Still getting that link failure. Opened up firewall too.

    I was trying to avoid installing mysql and everything on my computer...Mostly because I already did I just couldn't figure out how to launch it with php admin. Even downloaded WAMP.

    In any case thanks for the help. This has helped me out tremendously. If I get time I will definitely offer a little tutorial video in return.
